An action that we have taken to support our school’s learning focus is: 

In October and November 2025, all grade 8 students participated in two PLT workshops, led by leadership students, that focussed on essential skills for high school success: staying organized and building productive habits.  

This action supports our school’s learning focus in the following ways: 

Literacy and executive functioning skills are closely interconnected. Executive functioning skills include critical abilities such as organization, task initiation, time management, goal setting, and memory. These competencies enable students to maintain focus, retain information, and stay on task, all of which are fundamental to comprehending and engaging with texts of every kind.
