The Steveston-London Sharks compete in the Richmond Secondary Schools Athletic Association (RSSAA) leagues and can qualify to compete for Lower Mainland, Vancouver & District, and Provincial championships.  While our teams practice and compete hard and embrace competition and SLSS student-athletes have gone on to represent BC and Canada and compete at the university level, our most important athletic goal is to encourage as many students as possible to participate in athletics by representing the school as a team member, as a manager, helping to coach a younger team, or perhaps volunteering as a scorer or timer or simply attending games and cheering for the Sharks.  We measure our success primarily in the numbers of students who are actively participating in Sharks athletics as we believe this involvement creates a positive and lasting influence on students' sense of belonging and school pride.   We expect our student-athletes to be attending regularly, maintaining satisfactory academic achievement in all of their classes and to be exemplary citizens in the school.  As thousands of students did as PACKERS, LORDS, and LEGENDS, whenever you put on the blue and gold SHARKS jersey, you are expected to be committed to practicing and playing hard and representing your school with pride, sportsmanship, and class.
