Grad Assessments (error in available window)

Since creating our calendar in May, a change in available dates has just surfaced. This Fall session is now only 1-week (originally 2-weeks), while the June session is now 2-weeks (originally 1-week). This means, we must prioritize our Grade 12s for this week’s available sessions, so they have the option to re-write this year if their result is less than their desired plan. GNA 10 will be pushed back into into S1 Math classes in October. GLA 10 mass sitting will still likely be captured in June.

Emails to staff, students, and families will happen today (Friday, October 25^th. The list on the library window will be adjusted to reflect this change. For the required Grad Assessments, we are at the mercy of the Ministry session window and the SLSS model utilizes PLT days. For some, this ‘change’ could cause a little bit of feelings of unease. For some teachers, we know this will shift their planning ‘off’ by one-week.

Our website still has good preparation materials and will include a link to Mr. Nashlund’s PowerPoint that was to be shared in the now postponed Grade 12 Assembly.

Thank you all for going with the flow, as we don’t have another option. It is far better that the ‘error’ was caught now, than on the morning of the 6^th when 60 grade 12s and 60 grade 10s would discover they cannot log-in and the session window is, in fact, expired.
