Meet the Teacher on September 24
We are excited to welcome parents and caregivers to our Meet the Teacher night on Thursday, September 24.
This evening provides a wonderful opportunity to experience a day in the life of your child by following their timetable, visiting classrooms, and meeting their teachers. Teachers will share information about course expectations, learning opportunities, assessment practices, and ways families can support student success throughout the term. A strong partnership between home and school plays an important role in student achievement, and we value the opportunity to connect with families as we work together to support every learner.
Grade 8 Families are invited to begin their evening with a school tour at 5:00 PM in the Williams Lounge, followed by a Grade 8 Parent Information Presentation at 5:45 PM in the Shark Tank Gym. This session will provide important information about supporting students through their transition to secondary school and helping them have a successful first year at SLSS.
Grade 8-12 Parents and Caregivers should meet in the Shark Tank Gym by 6:20 PM where they will be welcomed by our principal.
Please bring a copy of your child’s timetable to help guide you through the evening. Your child’s schedule and a school map will be emailed to families in advance. You may also have your child write out their timetable, take a photo of it from the first day of school, or access it through MyEducationBC.
To help you navigate the school, our Shark Ambassador students will be stationed throughout the building to provide directions and assist parents and caregivers in finding classrooms.
Parking will be limited. Families are encouraged to carpool, walk, cycle, or allow extra time to find parking.
We look forward to meeting parents and caregivers, and sharing the exciting learning taking place at Steveston-London Secondary!
