Career Education

Career Education 8-12

The Career Education (CE) curriculum supports students in the process of providing them with opportunities to explore a variety of careers and options for their future.  The CE program is a Ministry of Education requirement for grades 8-12 that is designed to support student's growth as a learner.  Each year, students will focus on the big ideas of the curricula and particpate in Connections classes and Conference days, and some online activities.  Grade 11 and 12 students work towards completing a culminating Capstone project based on personal passions and interests.  

Career Education aims to support students to make future ecucaitonal and career life plans that are thougthful, informed and balanaced.  Today's graduates must be able to adapt to ongoing change in many aspects of their lives, whether students decide to pursue post-secondary education, or work after secondary school.  Career Educatino helps students to discover a bridge between classroom learning, workplace and post-secondary realities, and is intended to make their learning meaningful, relevant and personal.  

The Career Education Program consists of: 

  • Grade 8 - Career Life Connections 8
  • Grade 9 - Career Life Connections 9
  • Grade 10 - Career Life Connections 10 & Career Life Education 10
  • Grade 11 - Career Life Connections 11
  • Grade 12 - Career Life Connections 12
